Clay Academy provides a safe and therapeutic learning environment offering a high teacher-to-student ratio leading to highly individualized and effective specialized care and attention to help students develop skills to be successful adults in their communities and their lives.
The staff incorporates highly individualized positive strength-based teaching and behavioral techniques to build a solid foundation of character for each student. Academic instruction parallels District 200’s curriculum and is delivered in a project-based format. Social skills and the processing of positive replacement behaviors are priority areas of focus. Therapy is provided by highly qualified staff along with the availability of psychiatric services. All staff work closely with families through constant communication.
